Description
Forget-Me-Not is a fast-paced arcade game designed for solo or two-player action. Set in the neon-lit corridors of the ever-changing NEON DUNJUN, the game combines maze exploration, monster encounters, and intense shooting action. Players must navigate through an infinite series of randomly generated mazes, collecting flowers while battling against hostile creatures. Each level challenges players to gather a specific number of flowers before they can proceed to the next floor, all while avoiding being overrun by the dungeon's monsters.
In Forget-Me-Not, you’ll need to grab the key to unlock the next floor, but be careful! Monsters are eager to steal it away from you, so protecting your precious key becomes a top priority. Once all the flowers are collected, a doorway will appear, allowing you to move on to the next level. However, there are plenty of obstacles along the way, and you’ll need quick reflexes to avoid being cornered or trapped by enemies.
The gameplay features a unique mechanic where you can grind the walls to gain a speed boost and activate the ability to squash enemies. This provides a strategic advantage as you can quickly maneuver around enemies or take them out in a single swipe.
Forget-Me-Not offers various modes to keep gameplay fresh and exciting. In the Standard mode, you begin from the starting point and aim to progress as far as possible through the maze. The Shuffle mode introduces a chaotic twist, as the levels are played in a random order, making it more challenging and unpredictable. In Survival mode, you only have one life to make it through the levels, so every move counts.
The Seed mode is a global challenge where all players around the world tackle the same set of levels, which change daily. Players can replay the day’s levels as many times as they want, competing for high scores and global rankings. Finally, the Arena mode pits you against endless waves of enemies in a single, ever-changing arena. There are no doors to escape, and the walls continuously collapse, adding to the sense of urgency. With only one life to survive, this mode tests your endurance and skill to the limit.
The game also features various difficulty settings to suit different playstyles. The Original difficulty offers the classic Forget-Me-Not experience, while the Arcade mode ramps up the challenge with faster, more aggressive enemies, procedurally generated mazes, and destructible environments.
The game is known for its retro-inspired visuals, featuring tiny pixel art graphics and vibrant neon colors. The retro sound effects further enhance the nostalgic arcade experience, creating a fast-paced, immersive atmosphere. The maze design is procedurally generated, ensuring that no two playthroughs are ever the same, and the screen-wrapping feature keeps players on their toes as they attempt to outsmart the maze’s layout and avoid being surrounded by enemies.
Whether you’re playing alone or with a friend in the two-player mode, Forget-Me-Not offers a challenging and fun experience for players who enjoy fast-paced, action-packed gameplay with a retro flair.
Our Verdict
Forget-Me-Not is a fun and simple arcade game that gives you endless mazes to explore and monsters to dodge. The pixel graphics are small but charming, and the gameplay is fast and exciting. It’s easy to pick up and play, whether alone or with a friend.
The variety of modes keeps the game fresh, from standard runs to random levels and daily challenges. It’s not a big, fancy game, but it has heart and keeps you coming back for just one more run. The two-player mode adds some extra fun and chaos.
