Playable Space Overlords
- Fire Giant: A powerful close-combat specialist capable of releasing scorching heat waves from his hands. He possesses exceptional durability and a variety of physical attacks designed to crush any opposition.
- Terbang – Water Overlord: Equipped with gravity emitters that allow her to float, Terbang is the fastest overlord. She relies on ranged projectile attacks, with the ability to charge them for high-powered strikes, though her physical attacks are comparatively weaker.
- Phemus: Among the strongest overlords, Phemus has four arms that enable devastating close-range attacks. While not fast, his sheer strength makes him a formidable force in direct confrontations.
- Armored Titan: A massive walking armor with tentacle-like hair appendages and two enormous arms. His signature spin attack, when combined with a timed boost, can be extremely destructive, making him a dominant presence on the battlefield.
Game Modes
- 56 levels in story mode featuring diverse objectives and escalating challenges.
- Four distinct multiplayer modes that support cooperative and competitive gameplay for up to four players.
- Planet Editor mode for designing custom planetary environments and battle scenarios.
Space Overlords (2016) combines strategic combat, massive destruction, and customizable planetary gameplay, offering a rich experience for both single-player story progression and multiplayer competition. Each overlord provides a unique approach to battle, ensuring varied strategies and tactical depth across the expansive universe of Kesedihan.
Our Verdict
Space Overlords brings a fun yet repetitive experience to the table. The game's combat mechanics, where you stomp, smash, and shoot your way through cities and planetary defenses, offer moments of satisfaction, especially in multiplayer. The four distinct overlords, each with unique abilities, add variety to gameplay. However, the lack of depth in the story and enemy design might leave players feeling disconnected after a while. While the custom planet editor is a cool touch, it doesn't fully elevate the experience.
If you’re looking for a mindless, action-packed game to pass the time with friends, Space Overlords can be a decent choice, especially with its PVP modes and cooperative play. But if you're expecting something with more depth and a compelling narrative, you might want to look elsewhere. Overall, it’s an enjoyable, casual game, but not something that’ll keep you coming back for long.
