Description
Green Reaper is a game where players take on the role of a spectral entity tasked with harvesting the souls of plants that have perished during the day. The gameplay centers around strategic collection, upgrading equipment, and managing a growing field of plants that require timely attention. The game was developed as part of the University of Utah’s GameCraft October Jam, which focused on the theme of “harvest.”
Gameplay Mechanics
Players navigate the game world using the WASD keys to move the Green Reaper. The primary interaction, harvesting, is performed by clicking the mouse. The objective is to collect the souls of fallen plants, which allows the player to earn in-game currency that can be used to upgrade equipment or introduce new plants to the field.
Upgrades
- Movement Speed: Increases the Reaper’s travel speed across the field.
- Attack Damage: Enhances the efficiency of harvesting souls.
- Attack Speed: Reduces the time between successive harvests.

- FrankenZini: Provides an attack speed bonus, improving harvest efficiency.
- Exploding Pumpkin: Harvests all plants within a radius, allowing for rapid collection of multiple souls at once.
