Description
Battleborn is a next-generation shooter that brings together a formidable team of heroes tasked with defending the universe’s last star against an enigmatic evil force. Developed by the creators of Borderlands, the game combines a rich singleplayer narrative with extensive cooperative and competitive multiplayer gameplay.
Playable Heroes
The game features a robust selection of 25 playable characters, each with a distinct personality, specialized weapons, and unique abilities. This variety allows players to tailor their experience to different playstyles, whether engaging in solo story missions or team-based online battles.
Story Mode
Battleborn’s Story Mode offers a full narrative campaign designed for both singleplayer and cooperative play. Multiplayer

Open Beta Features

The beta launched on April 8, 2016, at 10:00 AM PST. Online multiplayer also requires a PlayStation®Plus subscription.

Our Verdict
Battleborn offers a unique mix of fast-paced action, quirky heroes, and a strong narrative that keeps things interesting. With 25 playable characters, each with distinct abilities and personalities, there’s plenty of variety in gameplay. The Story Mode is engaging, allowing both solo and co-op play, while the multiplayer modes deliver intense 5v5 matches that require strategic teamwork. The different modes – Incursion, Capture, and Meltdown – provide enough diversity to keep players engaged. However, despite its potential, the game struggles with balancing and can feel repetitive over time.
If you’re a fan of team-based shooters and enjoy a bit of humor mixed in with your combat, Battleborn may be worth checking out. But, for those who prefer a more polished experience, the game’s rough edges and steep learning curve might be a turnoff. While it has promise, it ultimately doesn’t stand out in the highly competitive multiplayer shooter market. Proceed with caution, especially if you're looking for a long-term experience.
