Description
Step into Edo, a unique version of Japan where historical events diverged dramatically. In this alternate realm, the Samurai were never disbanded and the emperor’s authority diminished, preventing Japan from opening its borders to foreign influence. Edo stands today as a society where tradition remains a guiding force, shaping both the lives of the people and the decisions of its leaders.
Over time, the Samurai have been granted increasing authority by the Council of Nobles and the Lord Regent. This development led to the creation of an elite Samurai division called the Justicars. Although appointed by the council, Justicars operate independently, tasked with investigating and adjudicating any threats or criminal activities they encounter. Their primary mission is to ensure continuity within Edo and protect its citizens from harm.
Despite the order maintained by the Justicars, Edo is far from peaceful. Rival factions vie for territory and influence, while internal dissent steadily grows. Amidst this turbulence emerges Asumi, a female samurai from the Black Clan, trained from birth for precision and lethality. Recently appointed as a Justicar, she must navigate a world she never anticipated, stepping out of the shadows and into an academy setting. Her mission is to uncover and stop a rebellion before it escalates into a civil war that could consume Edo.
