Description
Rise of Prussia Gold is an expanded and refined edition of AGEOD’s strategic wargame originally based on the Seven Years’ War setting in Europe (1757–1763). First introduced in its original form in 2010, this Gold version integrates multiple enhancements, additional content, and expanded scenarios that significantly extend gameplay depth and strategic variety.
The game is set during the era of King Frederick II of Prussia and focuses on the large-scale conflict between Prussia and its allies against a powerful coalition led by Austria, supported by France, Russia, Sweden, and the Holy Roman Empire. The Gold edition expands this historical framework with additional campaigns and improved systems that enrich both historical context and player-driven strategy.
Core Content and Base Game Structure
- More than 300 unique military leaders, some featuring individual portraits
- Over 300 distinct unit types representing 18th-century warfare forces
- 10 total scenarios including campaign and battle-focused setups
- 1 short battle scenario set in Saxony (1756) designed as an entry point
- 5 annual campaign scenarios covering 1757, 1758, 1759, 1760, and 1762 with the option to extend gameplay through 1763
- 1 grand campaign scenario spanning 1756–1764 with 176 turns

The playable map covers the entirety of Germany and surrounding territories, divided into more than 1000 individual regions. This structure enables wide operational freedom, allowing complex maneuvering, strategic positioning, and multi-front planning across a large-scale historical battlefield.
Gameplay Systems and Mechanics
The command system is built around a hierarchical structure inspired by earlier AGEOD titles such as American Civil War and Napoleon’s Campaigns. This system supports historically grounded army organization, command chains, and operational control.
The game also introduces scenario-based events and a flexible multi-choice decision system, allowing players to adjust strategies through dynamic in-game options. A simplified construction mode improves accessibility, while additional tools allow players to locate armies, monitor supplies, and manage military assets more efficiently.
An expanded manual of 86 pages provides detailed documentation of mechanics, systems, and gameplay functions.
