Description
Summer Nightmare is an intense psychological horror game that explores the complex and troubled life of a man who has never had a loving relationship with his mother. Born into a fatherless household, he spent his childhood on the streets and struggled with a severe gambling addiction. Despite finding love later in life, he never left his mother's home, instead bringing his partner to live with his family. This arrangement caused constant tension, as his wife repeatedly expressed her frustration about living with his mother.
Plot Overview
Tragedy strikes when the protagonist’s mother passes away. Following her death, complications with the inheritance arise, but they are quickly and unusually resolved. However, the resolution does not bring peace. The protagonist’s wife leaves him after he reveals the exact circumstances of his mother’s death, leaving him isolated. Following her departure, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events begins to unfold within his home, creating an atmosphere of fear and unease.
Gameplay
This game delivers a focused and concise horror experience, lasting approximately 30 minutes. The narrative-driven design emphasizes psychological tension over traditional jump scares, immersing players in the protagonist's unraveling reality. Summer Nightmare provides no option to save progress, heightening the sense of vulnerability and urgency throughout the experience. Every choice and moment contributes to the oppressive and suspenseful atmosphere that defines the game.

Summer Nightmare is a short, intense psychological horror that grabs your attention from the start. It’s well-crafted for a brief experience, with strong atmosphere and unsettling moments that stick with you. The story is dark and personal, exploring family tension and guilt in a way that hits hard in just 30 minutes.
The gameplay is simple and straightforward, with no saves, which adds tension but may frustrate some players. The visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5 are impressive, making the eerie house and strange events feel very real. It’s perfect if you like short, creepy experiences that deliver a punch without wasting time.
