The goal is simple: outwit and frighten your opponent before time runs out. If the game ends with no definitive winner, the player with the highest score takes the victory.

The gameplay in Hide and Shriek revolves around stealth, strategy, and creativity. Players start by becoming invisible, and with this unique ability, they must use their wits to find and scare their opponent. The environment is filled with opportunities to set up devious traps, summon magical creatures, and cast a variety of spells to trick or reveal the other player. Points are earned by successfully scaring your opponent, luring them into traps, or performing an ancient ritual. But beware, as both players are invisible, making it a challenge to spot each other. With over thirty different spells at your disposal, each one has its own playful and mischievous effect. Blind your opponent, sabotage doors, unleash terrifying creatures like demons, and much more. The range of spells allows for strategic depth, making each match feel fresh and unpredictable. Players can also use their shrieks and creepy masks to unsettle their opponents. Choose from masks based on famous personalities, such as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, or create chilling effects with accessories like gooey eyeballs, bloody hatchets, and skulls. The more inventive and scary you get, the higher your chances of scaring your opponent and winning the match.

Every match in Hide and Shriek takes place in a tight 10-minute window, making each session quick and intense. You can challenge friends or compete against strangers, trying to dominate the leaderboards.
