Description
James Renoir was once a dedicated police officer in a city plagued by rampant crime and violence. The pervasive influence of mafia families had infiltrated every level of society, from the streets to the highest offices of political power. Corruption ran deep within the police force, with the city's government holding a stranglehold on justice, rendering the authorities powerless. This toxic environment turned the police force into mere pawns controlled by the true forces of power. Yet, amidst the corruption, a glimmer of hope emerged in the form of a young, ambitious politician who began challenging the status quo. As a reward for his contributions to the battle against crime, Renoir was promoted to the role of Detective.
With this promotion, Renoir gained access to higher echelons of society, and eventually met the woman who seemed to be the love of his life. It seemed like things were finally falling into place for him. However, just as his future appeared promising, disaster struck. Two gunshots shattered his world, plunging him into a nightmare. When Renoir found himself staring down at his own gravestone, he realized that the case of his own murder had become his new obsession. With his life abruptly cut short, Renoir’s quest for justice had just begun.
Now a ghost, Renoir possesses a unique and powerful ability: the ability to control and interact with the phantoms around him. This new power allows him to solve intricate environmental puzzles, a vital skill for unraveling the mystery behind his death. However, Renoir must be cautious. The world of the living is not a place where he can simply wander freely—he must avoid the light at all costs. If he is exposed to light, his spectral form will be weakened, forcing him to carefully plan each move to ensure his survival in the shadowy world of the dead.
As Renoir navigates through the city in search of answers, he must retrace his steps from his final moments in the world of the living. By collecting fragments of his memories and using his ability to interact with the environment, Renoir will uncover clues that will lead him closer to identifying the person responsible for his murder. Along the way, he will face numerous challenges, from solving puzzles to evading dangerous forces determined to prevent him from uncovering the truth. In this grim and atmospheric world, Renoir must piece together the mysteries of his own death, confronting both the living and the dead in a desperate race against time.
