Description
Skydome Inc. was established in 2022, with backing from European venture capital, to safeguard humanity in the event of a catastrophic disaster. The company initiated the "Dome" project, which comprised several distinct programs. Among the most notable initiatives were InterShelter and InterSpace. The primary goal of InterShelter was to construct underground bunkers capable of protecting civilians from global catastrophes for up to fifty years. The program was spearheaded by Keyvan Morris, a prominent construction mogul from the West Coast. Work on the project commenced in 2024, gaining significant attention as geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East, escalated. As the likelihood of military conflict increased, the need for such shelters became more pressing. InterShelter gained substantial traction and was often referenced in discussions regarding various protective technologies, including medicine developed in tandem with shelter programs.
InterSpace, another ambitious initiative by Skydome, consisted of four separate projects. These included efforts to eliminate near-Earth space debris, establish a manned outpost on Mars, create a system to defend against potentially dangerous celestial bodies, and form an autonomous colony in Earth's orbit, known as Dark Sky. The vision of a promising future, with the exploration of space and colonization of new planets, was symbolized by Dark Sky, which promised boundless possibilities. However, this vision dimmed as a catastrophic event—the raging explosion of a nearby star—disrupted these grand plans. Little is known about the orbital colony following the disaster, and public interest in the project waned as Earth's inhabitants focused on survival amidst the planet's decline. Despite this, remnants of documents, blueprints, and prototypes related to Dark Sky can still be found scattered across shelters, labs, and bunkers. The true nature of Dark Sky remains uncertain, and some even question whether it was merely a myth.
The game "InterShelter" is set against this backdrop of a world in crisis, where survival becomes the ultimate goal. The game pits 50 players against one another on a vast, dangerous map. Upon entering the game, players can form groups of up to four individuals. The map is dotted with seven shelters, each varying in terms of the number of rescue capsules they contain, which are essential for escaping the impending storm. These shelters, which can house anywhere from one to three capsules, hold the key to survival. Players have only 30 minutes to find and unlock these shelters by locating and installing two batteries in each. Once the batteries are placed, players can enter the capsules and escape the deadly storm. The race against time, combined with the dangerous environment, makes the gameplay thrilling and intense.
Each player begins the game with identical stats, but their approach to survival can vary. Throughout the game, players must search for weapons, armor, and other essential items scattered across the map. These items, such as rifles, guns, shotguns, and pistols, are randomly spawned, creating a dynamic experience with every match. There is no traditional inventory system in the game; players must physically carry everything they collect. They can equip up to two primary weapons, such as rifles or shotguns, and two secondary weapons, like pistols. Any additional weapons can only be carried if they replace an existing weapon. While items like bullets and medical kits don’t weigh anything, they can be stored in infinite quantities.
The primary objective of the game is straightforward: survive and make it to the rescue capsule. However, the path to survival depends on the player's strategy and ability to adapt to the random conditions of the game world. Each decision, from choosing which weapons to carry to when and where to search for supplies, can mean the difference between life and death. As players scramble to find shelter and escape the storm, alliances may form, only to be broken as the competition for the limited resources intensifies. The game's unpredictability and emphasis on strategic thinking create a high-stakes environment where only the most resourceful players will emerge victorious.
Our Verdict
INTERSHELTER is a tense survival game that puts you right in the middle of a chaotic storm. The goal is simple: find batteries, reach a shelter, and escape. The game is easy to pick up, but the randomness of items and shelters keeps each round exciting and unpredictable. Teamwork is important, but you can also go solo if you want. It creates a real sense of urgency and strategy without overcomplicating things.
The graphics and gameplay are solid for its time, and the controls are straightforward. Carrying your gear directly on your character adds realism and tension, making every decision matter. While it doesn’t have a deep story, the survival mechanics and fast-paced rounds make it compelling for anyone who enjoys short, thrilling matches.
We recommend INTERSHELTER if you like quick, intense survival games with friends or solo. It’s not about long campaigns, but about the rush of strategy and survival. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy a mix of luck, skill, and tense moments.
